Applicants with Credit or Loss Problems

“I’ll never be able to get insurance with this loss on my record.” Just because it may seem impossible doesn’t mean that it’s true. We help many people get insurance, despite it feeling impossible to them. Just because your life isn’t perfect, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have coverage. We sell both homeowners and owner-occupied dwelling fire policies and cover the following kinds of properties and risks:

  • Primary residences, seasonal, and secondary homes
  • Homes older or lower in value
  • Homes with minor cosmetic conditions
  • Applicants with credit or loss issues
  • Applicants who have been declined, cancelled or non-renewed by another insurance company

You should know, that it isn’t impossible to get insurance and that we will help find the best products for your needs in order for you to be protected.

Flood Insurance

Chances are, if you live in a flood plain, you should, and may even be required, to have Flood insurance as part of your Homeowners policy. As part of the National Flood Insurance Program, you are able to purchase protection, against flood damages, in most areas. Unquestionably, the Hurricane Katrina disaster of 2005 brought Flood Insurance and the federal organization (FEMA), that mandates it, to our attention. It was one of the deadliest and costliest natural disasters in U.S. history.*

Every year flood losses account for millions of dollars in damages. Some homeowners and businesses are covered, but for some, losses incurred are catastrophic. Flood insurance is a good buy, even in low or moderate risk areas, as nearly 25 percent of all flood insurance claims come from low-to moderate-risk areas.

As Flood insurance is not a standard part of most Homeowners policies, it is a good idea to speak to your agent to determine if your home or business is at risk for damages caused by flooding. Please call us with any questions that you have about your current flood insurance policy or if you believe you should have flood insurance.

    Settlement Methods

Your settlement method depends on which policy you choose and whether or not you purchase any optional endorsements.

    • Actual Cash Value. Our base policy has an Actual Cash Value settlement. An ACV settlement is the cost to replace or repair you damaged property, with a deduction to reflect the age and condition of the damaged property.
    • Replacement Cost . Our policy with Replacement Cost settlement reflects the cost to repair or replace damaged items with new items at today’s prices.
    • Agreed Loss Settlement. An Agreed Loss Settlement means that in the case of a covered total loss to the home, your settlement will be the Amount of Insurance listed on your Declarations Page, with no deductible on the coverage for your home, unless stated elsewhere in the policy.
    • Extended Replacement Cost. For a covered total loss, if the cost to replace the home is more than the Amount of Insurance, up to an additional 25% of the Amount of Insurance on the home is available.

Some coverage may be subject to area restrictions and limited. Please contact us to learn more and to find out which options are the best for you.

Motor Homes

It’s time to get out on the open road. And, now more than ever, you may be likely to choose a home on four wheels rather than on a permanent foundation. It’s important to make sure that you and your home have the right protection no matter where you are. Take to the road in your motor home and choose your own adventure. Will you drive to camp in the mountains or to take in a sporting event? You know the great outdoors. And with the open-ended possibilities that lie ahead, the right insurance shouldn’t be a question.

Here are some of the Motor Home coverages we offer that aren’t included in a typical auto policy:

  • Comprehensive Coverage for protection from just about any direct, sudden, and accidental loss, including: collision, fire, smoke, flood, landslide, hail, windstorm, animals, vandalism, low branches or overhangs, theft and lightning.
  • Coverage for Attached Accessories, including awnings, satellite dishes and TV antennas.

Here are some of the popular optional Motor Home coverages:

  • Total Loss Replacement Coverage that protects your motor home from the effects of depreciation. If your new-model motor home is destroyed within its first five years, we’ll pay to replace it with a brand new one of similar kind and quality no matter what it costs. In years six through ten, we’ll give you up to what you paid for it originally toward the purchase of another motor home. This option can save you literally thousands of dollars when compared to typical auto policies, which pay only the Actual Cash Value (ACV) of your motor home at the time it’s destroyed. ACV is the current value of your motor home.
  • Emergency Expenses Coverage that pays for lodging or travel home if your rig is damaged or destroyed by a covered loss more than 50 miles from home.
  • Campsite/Vacation Liability Coverage that provides liability coverage when you are parked and using your motor home as a residence.
  • Replacement Cost Coverage on personal belongings destroyed or stolen.
  • Towing and Roadside Assistance eliminates the hassle of buying a separate towing plan. Towing, jump starts, roadside service, flat tire changes, fuel delivery, and locksmith services are just a toll-free phone call away. There are no out-of-pocket payments required, either. Just sign and drive. What’s more, your motor home is covered regardless of who is driving!
  • Full-Timer Coverage provides liability protection very similar to a homeowners policy. While an auto policy will only provide liability protection when you are using your motor home as a vehicle, a Full-Timer policy covers you when you are parked and using your rig as a residence, too.

We offer optional coverages that let you customize your policy. Some coverages may be subject to company approval or may not be available in all states. Contact us at any time for more information.

Personal Liability Coverage

Are you protected if someone is injured on your property or if you damage another’s property? Personal Liability protection makes sure that you are covered against the things that you can be held liable for. It seems a little strange to think that someone could win a lawsuit because the hot cup of coffee that they spilled on themselves didn’t warn them that their beverage was hot. Unfortunately, today, human error and accidents usually end in someone’s monetary gain. But it doesn’t have to mean your loss.

Did you make sure to clear all of the ice off of your sidewalk this winter? What about that loose hand-rail on your step—is it securely fasted? Whether you’re deemed negligent or deemed the most careful homeowner on your block, you can still be liable for an accident that occurs on your property. Personal Liability provides protection in such an instance. It also extends financial protection to you should you cause an accident to or on someone else’s property.

Accidents happen but you can be in control of how it affects you. Contact us today to learn more about personal liability coverage, its limits, and what your insurance coverage should be.

Personal Property Coverage

Are your wedding bands or other valuables covered? What about your home entertainment system? Personal Property Coverage can make sure that these items and your personal belongings are protected. To most of us, our belongings are just as important as our homes. You may think your couch, coffee table, sweaters, shoes, coats, TV, VCR and CD player aren’t worth a lot but those items all add up.

Apartment and Townhome Renters Insurance provides coverage for your household contents and personal belongings. Also known as contents coverage, it provides coverage to damages caused to these items. Have a beautiful, and probably expensive, home theater system? Have jewelry, photographs, and other items that have sentimental value? Money may not be able to cover the emotional loss that you experience but it can help to replace those valuables.

Contact us for more information about the coverage amounts that your homeowners policy provides and if you should consider having your personal property covered.

Personal Umbrella Liability Coverage

An umbrella, exactly what it says, shelters us from a great deal of losses. Given today’s litigious society, we could stand to lose a lot if we end up in a lawsuit. A Personal Umbrella Policy serves to shelter you from losses or loopholes in coverage. You may be covered to an extent, but what if you have a lot to lose if someone decides to sue you? A Personal Umbrella Liability policy is designed to cover you if you should ever experience a large lawsuit or a large accident that exceeds your current coverage.

The policy provides extra protection in three ways:

  • Liability Insurance that adds to the limits of your Automobile, Homeowners and Recreational Vehicle or Boat Liability policy limits.
  • Coverage for unknown or unexpected exposures that are excluded in typical Auto, Homeowners, Recreational Vehicle or Boat Liability policies.
  • Coverage for the cost of your legal defense. This includes court costs, interest on judgments, and premiums on necessary bonds.
Contact us if you think you need an Umbrella Liability Policy, or if you have further questions regarding this type of coverage.

Renters

Just because you don’t own the property you live in, doesn’t mean that your valuables shouldn’t be insured. Did you know that your personal property isn’t covered under your landlord’s insurance policy? Renters insurance helps to make sure your prized possessions are covered when you’re renting your home. Protect your belongings and protect the assets you’ve worked so hard for!
  • Personal Property – Apartment and Townhome renters insurance provides coverage for your household contents and personal belongings. You may think your couch, coffee table, sweaters, shoes, coats, TV, VCR and CD player aren’t worth a lot but those items all add up.
  • Personal Liability – In the event someone is injured on your property or you damage property that belongs to others, you could be held legally liable for the injury or damage. The renters policy provides personal liability coverage to financially protect you should this ever occur.

Residential

For many of us, our home is one of our most valuable and prized possessions. There is nothing quite like the wonderful feeling of a having a place to call home, and nothing worse than the sinking feeling of losing it. Residential Homeowner’s insurance helps to make sure that we will have a home in the event that the unexpected occurs. Residential coverage is for the “average” homeowner’s insurance needs. A typical policy usually includes coverage for:
  • Dwellings and other structures – For most of us, our home is the single, largest investment we will make. Homeowners insurance provides coverages for damage to your home and other structures on your property such as a shed or detached garage.
  • Personal Property – Homeowners insurance also provides coverage for your household contents and personal belongings. You may think your couch, coffee table, sweaters, shoes, coats, TV, VCR and CD player aren’t worth a lot but those items all add up.
  • Personal Liability – Finally, in the event someone is injured on your property or you damage property that belongs to others, you could be held legally liable for the injury or damage. A homeowner policy provides liability and personal property insurance to financially protect you should this ever occur.
If you recently purchased a home or if you would like to review and update your current policy, please contact us at any time.

Specialty Homeowners

We provide a variety of Homeowner Coverage options for providing protection for the following types of speciality properties: older and lower value homes, landlord properties, homes with minor cosmetic problems, homes with market value below replacement cost, and more. Many homes don’t qualify for “standard” or “preferred” insurance for many different reasons. That’s what sets our program apart – we specialize in homes that may not qualify elsewhere.

Coverage Options

We sell both homeowners and owner-occupied dwelling fire policies and cover the following kinds of properties and risks:

  • Primary residences, seasonal and secondary homes
  • Homes older or lower in value
  • Homes with minor cosmetic conditions
  • Applicants with credit or loss issues
  • Applicants who have been declined, cancelled or non-renewed by another insurance company
  • And more!

Travel Trailers

Taking your home on the road? Whether you have a fifth-wheel, travel trailer, pop-up or truck-mounted camper, we have coverage to make sure that your home away from home is protected. Take to the road with your travel trailer and choose your own adventure. Will you drive to camp in the mountains or to take in a sporting event? You know the great outdoors. And with the open-ended possibilities that lie ahead, the right insurance shouldn’t be a question.

Our policies provide important standard and optional coverages not available in conventional auto policies, or in the stripped down RV policies offered by other companies. A travel trailer insurance policy, on the other hand, can give you more security and more value for your money.

Here are some of the travel trailer coverages we offer that aren’t included in a typical auto policy:

  • Comprehensive Coverage for protection from just about any direct, sudden, and accidental loss, including: collision, fire, smoke, flood, landslide, hail, windstorm, animals, vandalism, low branches or overhangs, theft and lightning.
  • Coverage for Attached Accessories, including awnings, satellite dishes and TV antennas.

These are a few of the most popular coverage options:

  • Total Loss Replacement Coverage that protects your travel trailer from the effects of depreciation. If your new-model travel trailer is destroyed within its first five model years, we’ll pay to replace it with a brand new one of similar kind and quality – no matter what it costs. In years six through ten, we’ll give you up to what you paid for it originally toward the purchase of another travel trailer. This option can save you literally thousands of dollars when compared to typical auto policies, which pay only the Actual Cash Value (ACV) of your travel trailer at the time it’s destroyed. That’s the current value of your travel trailer.
  • Emergency Expenses Coverage that pays for lodging or travel home if your rig is damaged or destroyed by a covered loss more than 50 miles from home.
  • Campsite/Vacation Liability Coverage that provides liability coverage when you are parked and using your travel trailer as a residence.
  • Replacement Cost Coverage on personal belongings that are destroyed or stolen.
What’s more, your travel trailer – and your tow vehicle – are covered, regardless of who is driving!
  • Full-Timer Coverage provides liability protection very similar to a homeowners policy. While an auto policy will only provide liability protection when you are on the road, a Full-Timer policy covers you when you are parked and using your rig as a residence, too.
  • The Stationary Travel Trailer Program gives you extensive comprehensive and contents coverage if you use your travel trailer as a seasonal or permanent residence. This includes liability coverage that covers liability, medical payments to others, and property damage claims caused by an accident for which you are held liable. This program provides you with additional protection since your auto or homeowners policies may not extend coverage to you.
